2021 Season Update

Welcome to Campbell Little League's online registration for the 2021 season!

We will begin our season with Spring Training, under the "purple tier" system in place at this time. This includes many COVID-19 protocols, including full-time mask wearing and the use of stable cohorts of limited size, as allowed by local government. Rest assured, we have submitted a COVID plan to the County of Santa Clara and are staying on top of all notifications and guidelines. When we move into the "red tier," we will transition quickly to a program that accommodates smaller teams and a game schedule. As we've stated in previous emails, your CLL Board is committed to providing our youth athletes with the best and most realistic baseball experience possible this season, within the limits prescribed by the county and state, while ensuring the health and safety of our children as well.

The core strength of CLL is our all-volunteer organization. COVID health mandates require us to have a larger pool of health/safety monitors to manage and meet health/safety protocols for Spring 2021. That means our volunteers will be more important this year than ever before. We encourage all of you to consider stepping up as volunteers. Even before Spring Training starts, we will need help with facility clean-up, field preparation, setting up sanitization stations, etc. Also, we are encouraged by the number of players currently registered to play (enough for at least a couple of teams per division, but there's room for many more!), and we are asking that those interested in managing or coaching please come forward at this time so that we may begin to assess the number of cohorts/teams we will be able to fill. Coaching instruction and training will be provided, as always, so if you haven't signed up yet, please register--now is the time--no baseball experience is necessary! In addition to coaches and managers, we are looking for 1-2 parent volunteers per cohort to help with check-in and COVID protocols at practices and (ultimately) games.

If you choose not to select a volunteer opportunity during the online registration process, you will charged a volunteer fee of $150 per player.

The guidelines can be reviewed here:

Our site-specific protocols will be posted and distributed to parents and managers on site as well.

One more thing on the volunteer topic. Our League is a not-for-profit organization, and many business entities in the area reimburse our League for employee volunteer time, a gift that is much appreciated. If your employer is one of them, (e.g. Apple, Adobe) please give an extra minute of consideration to signing up as a volunteer for us. We appreciate it.

Key dates: Once registered, please mark your calendars for player evaluations (aka tryouts) on March 6th and 7th. Players that are league age 4-8 are not required to attend. All other players must attend at least one of the player evaluations, and 8-year olds wanting to try out for the Minor division may attend. In order to better manage the number of people gathered and to limit potential exposure, this year our Farm teams will be formed by our Player Agent rather than evaluated and drafted. We have scheduled upper division drafts for mid-March and expect to have all cohorts/teams formed by March 22nd and ready to begin practices the following week.

Thank you for being a part of CLL and for your continued support of the League! Reminder: finish the registration or sign up now and remind your friends and neighbors to do the same! Let's get ready to play ball!

Sincerely,
Campbell Little League
