Below is an update regarding the current plan for the upcoming Spring
season:

Your Board of Directors is excited to share that we are working on what we believe to be a viable plan (and a backup plan) that will allow our kids to play ball in the Spring! As
we waffle back and forth within the color tiers, playing baseball is
obviously not going to be solely our decision, but we are going forward
with our planning with the expectation that State
and local restrictions will be eased by Spring and we will therefore be
able to provide a baseball opportunity for the kids.
Our goal for 2021 is to form teams, conduct safe cohort-style practices, and be ready to play games if and when it is safe to do so. Of course, we will follow Little League International's Best Practices for safety during the pandemic, the Center for Disease Control's advice, and Santa Clara County's guidelines regarding the return of youth sports, and while it
may be that we cannot gather for actual games, our plan at least has
the promise of skills training and exercise, mentoring and coaching,
uniforms and team spirit, friendships, laughter, and a boost to the
kids' mental health and self-esteem. We are excited about the
possibility that we can make it work and we hope you share our optimism.
We
anticipate opening on-line registration for the 2021 season during the
first week of December. Because of the uncertainties we are all facing, we
have adjusted the process to allow you to register your player(s) and
defer the payment of registration fees until such time as we are
confident that we will have a season of baseball. We are assessing
the viability of an on-line residency verification process in the event
we are unable to conduct live verification nights. We anticipate keeping
registration/verification open through January 2021. We plan to conduct
player evaluations by the end of February, either via in-person tryouts
or an off-line alternative if we aren't cleared by then. The next step
will be the formation of teams and/or cohorts, and our plan is to
accomplish that in early March and allow practices until either we are
cleared to play games or the season comes to a natural close in early
June.
We hope to see our kids back in action in March or April and hope each of you will continue to be a part of our great league!
