Campbell Little League Age Divisions of Play

At Campbell Little League, we strive to give all of the players the best youth baseball experience possible.  Our divisions of play are divided into five different age groups and follow Little League Baseball International guidelines. Even though exceptions are bound to occur, we try our very best to balance the specific needs of the player with developmental goals of all involved parties and player safety issues.  Please refer to the Little League Age Chart to determine your child's "league age".  Our five divisions of play are as follows: 


Tee Ball Division (League age 4-5 year olds):  
- Fall Ball Season - One game per week on Sundays
- Spring Season - Typically play two games per week (one weekday game and one Saturday game)
- Games typically last 3/4 to 1 hour  
- Practices are optional and at the discretion of the team manager 
- Players use a soft baseball and hit off a tee
- Players are placed on a team / teammate requests are accepted  

Rookie Division (League age 5-6 year olds)
- Fall Ball Season - One game per week on Sundays
- Spring Season - Typically play two games per week (one weekday game and one Saturday game)
- Games typically last 1 hour 
- Practices a maximum of one additional day per week (45 minutes to 1 hour)
- Players use a soft baseball; players can hit off a tee or off coach pitch 
- Players are placed on a team / teammate requests are accepted 

Farm Division (League age 7-8 year olds):
- Fall Ball Season: One game per week on Sundays
- Spring Season: Typically play two games per week (one weekday game; one weekend game)
- Games typically last 1-1/2 hours 
- Practices an additional one to two days per week (approximately 90 minutes long) 
- Players use real baseballs; players face machine pitch, coach pitch, and player pitch 
- Players attend a tryout and are selected onto teams by the coaching staff
- Teammate requests are not accepted
- Sibling requests are evaluated on a case by case basis 

Minors Division (League age 9-10 year olds)

- Fall Ball Season: One game per week on Sundays
- Spring Season: Typically play two games per week (one weekday game; one weekend game)

- Games typically last 1-1/2 to 2 hours 
- Practices an additional one to two days per week (approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours long)
- Players face player pitch only 
- Players attend a tryout and are selected onto teams by the coaching staff 
- Teammate requests are not accepted 
- Sibling requests are evaluated on a case by case basis 
- Players and teams are eligible for postseason play (Tournament of Champions and All Stars) 

Majors Division (League age 11-12 year olds)
- Fall Ball Season: One game per week on Sundays
- Spring Season: Typically play two games per week (one weekday game; one weekend game)

- Games typically last 2 hours 
- Practices an additional two to three days per week (approximately 2 hours long)
- Players face player pitch only 
- Players attend a tryout and are selected onto teams by the coaching staff 
- Teammate requests are not accepted
- Sibling requests are evaluated on a case by case basis 
- Players and teams are eligible for postseason play (Tournament of Champions and All Stars) 

Intermediate Division (League age 13 year olds)
- Fall Ball Season: To be determined as Spring 2024 is the first year for this Division
- Spring Season: Typically play two games per week (one weekday game; one weekend game)
- Games typically last 2-1/2 hours 
- Practices an additional two to three days per week (approximately 2 hours long)
- Players face player pitch only 
- Tryouts to be determined based on number of registered players
- Teammate requests are not accepted
- Sibling requests are evaluated on a case by case basis 
- Postseason play to be determined as Spring 2024 is the first year for this Division

Juniors Division (League age 14 year olds)
- Fall Ball Season: To be determined as Spring 2024 is the first year for this Division
- Spring Season: Typically play two games per week (one weekday game; one weekend game)
- Games typically last 2-1/2 hours 
- Practices an additional two to three days per week (approximately 2 hours long)
- Players face player pitch only 
- Tryouts to be determined based on number of registered players
- Teammate requests are not accepted
- Sibling requests are evaluated on a case by case basis 
- Postseason play to be determined as Spring 2024 is the first year for this Division

Challenger Division:
 
  - Little League's baseball adaptive program for players with physical or intellectual challenges.
- Players 4 - 18 years old (or up to 22 if still enrolled in school).
